Can’t get my Nintendo switch to play need help

AI Highlights
  • - I forgot my password and can't log in to play the games I've paid for.
  • - I can't figure out how to get Internet going on the system.

I forgot to write my password down. I don't know what it is.

I can't get in to play the games that I've paid for the system. I've had it for a while, but I can't figure out how to get my Internet going on it.

It's not letting me. Yes, I am 56 years old, and I would like to play, but I'm trying to get it working again.

Nintendo switch is not connecting and breaks fairly easily

stay away from nintendo

Original review Feb 07, 2026

My Nintendo Switch that I got used, which didn't have more than 2 hours total on it, won't connect to my TV anymore. It sometimes connects, but when I am in the middle of an online game, it shuts off, and I lose because of it.

I bought a new dock, which didn't help, went through 2 TVs, still didn't work, replaced cords with Nintendo licensed cords, and went to a repair shop to try and fix it; all didn't work. I'm never buying something as cheap as that ever again unless they fix the build quality so that the controllers don't fall off and break every single time.

Loss:
$200
Pros:
  • Portable
  • Excellent games & brilliant creativity
  • Fun games
Cons:
  • Controller falls off
  • Slow loading times
  • Low quality

Preferred solution: Deliver product or service ordered

User's recommendation: Buy an xbox one or series s if you are looking for something affordable and not trashy

My Nintendo won’t turn on

AI Highlights
  • - The staff were really nice and calm.
  • - They helped me get my Nintendo started.
  • - The wait time was short and they gave tips for future issues.

The people who helped me were really nice, and they helped me get my Nintendo back started. They were really calm.

They were just really, really nice people, and I gave it a five-star rating because it was just great service. All in all, it did not take long for me to wait; it was just really, really nice. They helped me get my Nintendo started. They gave me tips, and they told me what I should use to do or what to do if this ever happens again, so all in all, the people are really nice.

The wait time isn't bad, and it's just a great thing. I would suggest, if you're having problems with your Nintendo, to call them.

Frustration with Nintendo’s Anti-Consumer Practices

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - Account linking and annual deregistration lock digital purchases.
  • - Transfers between consoles are slow; escalate to Nintendo decision-makers.

Hello,

I want to file a formal complaint regarding several Nintendo practices that feel anti-consumer and honestly insulting to loyal players: 1. Account/Console Linking: The once per year rule on web deregistration is absurd. If a console is lost, damaged, or returned, players are punished by being locked out of their own digital purchases. I had to return my Switch due to stick drift and now can't even play games I legally bought because of this broken system. No other major platform treats digital ownership this way. 2. Transfer Restrictions: Transferring your account and licenses between consoles should be instant and painless. Instead, it's a maze of outdated policies that make it feel like Nintendo doesn't trust the people actually buying their games. 3. Overpriced Games: Nintendo continues charging full price ($60-70) for years-old games, while other platforms regularly offer fair discounts. It feels like Nintendo takes advantage of its fan base's loyalty rather than rewarding it. 4. 4K Upgrade Tax on Switch 2: Customers are buying new hardware capable of 4K, but Nintendo is charging an extra $20 just to play re-released games in 4K. That's double-dipping and feels like we're being charged twice for the same product. 5. Amiibo Prices: $50+ for plastic Amiibo figures is excessive. They are locked behind artificial scarcity and inflated pricing, and in many cases, content is unfairly gated behind them.

Overall, Nintendo's policies are outdated, exploitative, and need urgent reform. People want to enjoy your games, but systems like these turn excitement into frustration.

I am asking for two things: Immediate help unlinking my account from my old console so I can play the games I purchased. Escalation of this feedback to decision-makers at Nintendo.

Please stop punishing players for supporting your brand.

Sincerely,

Lucas Cusano

All of your issues with their policies and pricing were/are available before purchasing the Switch then later the Switch 2. Your point by point list of complaints are answers to questions you should have considered prior to purchasing. You needed to ask yourself if you were ok with “What if X happens?” and proceed (or not) from there.

It is not the smartest decision to post your home address and phone number here since this a third party site and anyone can see the information including people who work for the company and the rest of the world. Most likely this information will not be seen by Nintendo, but will be seen by random posters both insane and normal.

So if you think that someone had a party at your place, while you were at work, you know why. They at least deleted your phone number.

Extremely helpful, the lady we spoke to went above and beyond. We were so confused and frazzled.

We've been trying to fix our accounts for two days, and she was very, very patient. She took her time with us and went over things probably more than three times because we were confused. My mother screwed up, but that's OK.

We hope that all of your staff is as friendly and wonderful as this lady was. Thanks, good job.
